    NIDHI – Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR)

    Introduction

    NIDHI-Entrepreneur-in- Residence (NIDHI–EIR) Program aims to encourage graduate students to take to entrepreneurship as a prospective career option by providing financial and non-financial support in the form of a fellowship. The programme provides a prestigious forum for deserving and budding entrepreneurs to pursue their entrepreneurial ventures while largely mitigating the risks associated with technology-based businesses.

    NIDHI – EIR is a sector-agnostic program. The NIDHI-EIR recipient is eligible to get financial support of up to INR 30,000/- monthly. The minimum financial support offered is INR 10,000/- monthly. The program is offered to graduate students for a max. period of 12 months and includes access to the infrastructure facilities at the TBI, mentoring support and guidance,  technical and financial advice, industry connections etc. in order to assist with developing their nascent ideas into a full-fledged business proposal.

    The opportunities under NIDHI-EIR Programme include:

    • Guidance from experienced, innovative and highly successful entrepreneurs on the business concept, strategy and venture insight into specific industries or markets.
    • Best practices for starting a business and broadening the professional network.
    •  Co-working spaces for developing the idea into a marketable product.

    Objectives

    The objectives of NIDHI EIR programme are :-

    • To encourage graduating student to take to entrepreneurship by providing support as a fellowship.
    • To provide a prestigious forum for deserving and budding entrepreneurs to pursue their ventures without any additional risks involved in technology based businesses.
    • To create, nurture and strengthen a pipeline of entrepreneurs for incubators.
    • To make pursuing entrepreneurship related to a technology business idea more attractive among available career options.
    • To enable creation of new start-ups by entrepreneurs and significant progress towards raising funding or investment.

    Programme Management

    The NIDHI-EIR program is implemented by the Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in association with NCL Venture Centre, Pune.


    How To Apply

    Application For Startup Incubation Centres

    Startup Incubation Centres / TBIs looking to implement the NIDHI-EIR programme may apply for the same through open call-for-proposals published on the NIDHI-EIR PMU Website.

    Application For Startups and Innovators

    Interested Students and Innovators may apply for support under NIDHI – EIR through NIDHI – EIR Centres (at selected TBIs).
