Introduction
The aim of Inclusive-TBI is to instil a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E) in students, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, as well as to stimulate and support creative ideas and start-up creation through incubation. The i-TBI facilitates conversion of ideas into startups and creates a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The Host Institution (HI) and surrounding geographies benefit from an i-TBI.
The Inclusive-TBI (i-TBI) program of DST has been formulated with an aim to strengthen the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in states where innovation and startup ecosystem is at nascent stages. i-TBI program (Inclusive TBI) focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and supporting i-TBIs largely in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, with a focus on inclusiveness in terms of geographies, gender, persons with special abilities, etc.
Startup Ignition Grant
Startup Ignition Grant is an integral of a NIDHI i-TBI. The i-TBI provides grants-in-aid to innovators to help them turn their ideas into prototypes and prototypes into businesses.
Objectives
- To motivate and encourage institutions primarily from the technical domain to create a culture of innovation driven entrepreneurship among academia including students and faculties.
- To focus on institutes specially in the regions where Innovations and Startup ecosystem is at nascent stages.
- To build a vibrant innovation ecosystem that leads to the creation of a startup culture in the nearby regions.
- To enable and build a network between academia, investors, mentors, industries and other institutions.
- To provide grants-in-aid funding support to innovative ideas and convert them into prototypes and further to startups.
How To Apply
Application Process for Incubators:
Applications are invited for establishing NIDHI-iTBIs in institutions through call-for-proposals via Dept. of Science & Technology’s e-PMS portal.
Application Process for Innovators/ Startups:
Innovators and startups may apply for incubation support to one of the DST’s inclusive-Technology Business Incubators (iTBIs). These i-TBIs periodically announce calls for applications for enrollment of innovators and Startups into their incubation programs.
